Basic life support (BLS) is the next step up from standard first aid, built for people who may have to respond in a professional role. You might be a healthcare worker, a lifeguard, a security officer, or part of a workplace response team. The situation is usually a cardiac arrest or a serious airway emergency where every second counts and you need to act with confidence until more advanced help arrives.
The course is hands-on from the start. You practise high-quality CPR on adult, child, and infant manikins, learning the correct depth and rate for each. You use a bag-valve mask to ventilate, work with an AED, and run through scenarios that simulate a real resuscitation. Our instructors watch your technique, correct your form, and push you to work smoothly as part of a team, just as you would on the job.
What makes one BLS course different from another is the mix of people in the room and the scenarios we run. A group of nurses brings different experience than a team of lifeguards, so the practice adapts. The number of participants changes how much individual coaching you get, and whether you need extra manikins or more time. The pace is faster when the group is smaller, and the cost reflects the equipment and instructor time involved.
During the course, you will be on your feet and active, so wear comfortable clothes and be ready to kneel on the floor. You will work through several scenarios, and we will give you feedback as you go. At the end, there is a practical assessment to confirm your skills. After the course, you receive a certificate if you pass, and you should keep it with your professional records. Before you come, let us know if you have any physical limitations so we can adjust the practice.
We focus on the right compression depth and rate for adults, children, and infants. You practise until the rhythm feels natural, because that is what saves lives.
Resuscitation is rarely a one-person job. We run scenarios where you coordinate with other responders, switch roles, and communicate clearly under pressure.

We start with the chain of survival and how to recognise cardiac arrest. You learn the signs, the priorities, and how to call for help while starting CPR.
You work through adult, child, and infant scenarios. You use a bag-valve mask, an AED, and practise clearing an obstructed airway. Instructors give feedback throughout.
The course ends with a practical test where you demonstrate your skills. If you pass, you get a certificate that confirms you have met the professional standard.

We build our practice around situations you will actually face, not just textbook drills. You leave knowing how to act when it is loud, stressful, and urgent.
Our instructors watch every compression and ventilation, correcting your technique on the spot. You get the individual attention that makes the skill stick.
This course is designed for people who need to perform in a job, not just for personal knowledge. The pace, the content, and the assessment match that standard.
